“I was on the set for Rue’s death. The scene is so key, not only because of it’t emotional impact on Katniss, Rue essentially becomes Prim’s surrogate in the arena, but because it has to be powerful enough to trigger the first rumblings of the rebellion. It’s very demanding for the actors. All three of the kids, Jen, Amandala, and Jack. They gave terrific performances. T Bone Burnett had come up with this lovely, haunting melody for the lullaby. And Gary, masterminding the whole thing, filmed it beautifully.”

“I believe there are too many children who need loving parents to deny one group of people adoption rights. A child will benefit from a healthy, loving home, whether the parents are gay or not.”

“What does Hank actually do, like, for money?” Huh, good question. I never really thought about it. Maybe he like, robs banks or something? Can you just see Hank robbin’ banks? Alright, I need you all to get down on the ground, and contemplate the size of your carbon footprint and give me all of your money because daddy needs some new corn dogs.”
